On 7th March 2022, CNSP held an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) for 9 CNSP Residents. They went through 8 stations with various clinical scenarios, such as medical nutritional therapy for patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Pulmonary Tuberculosis, Obesity, Critical illness, electrolyte imbalance, Loss of conciousness due to Traumatic Bain Injury, Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), and also COVID-19 that followed by malnutrition and its complication. This examination was an approach to assess the clinical competency of CNSP resident in treating and giving counseling and education for patient in nutritional intervention comprehensively.
The preparation for OSCE as a final CNSP qualification is very different from preparing a theory examination. It was an essential clinical method to understand how far residents could dissect the method into their individual learning steps, and performed in a sequence vignettes, in order to practice their skill and theory in good way for the patients after graduating. The all examiners for this OSCE were having certificate of competence and teaching CNSP resident for years.
